Taoyuan City is a special municipality in northwestern Taiwan, serving as the island's primary international gateway and a major industrial and economic hub. With a population exceeding 2.2 million residents, it ranks as Taiwan's fifth-largest city by population and has experienced rapid growth over recent decades due to its strategic location and economic opportunities.

The city is perhaps best known for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, the nation's largest and busiest airport, which handles the majority of international passenger and cargo traffic for the entire island. This airport's presence has shaped Taoyuan's development, attracting multinational corporations, logistics companies, and service industries that support international commerce.
