Infrastructure

Kent is served by a modern and robust infrastructure network suited for both heavy industry and residential life.

Electricity and natural gas are primarily provided by Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Water, sewer, and stormwater services are managed largely by the City of Kent Public Works department, supplemented by specialized water districts for certain hillside neighborhoods. High-speed internet and broadband are widely available, with services provided predominantly by Comcast (Xfinity) and CenturyLink (Lumen), alongside growing availability of 5G cellular networks. The city's infrastructure priorities currently focus on flood mitigation along the Green River, pavement preservation for heavy freight corridors, and expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging availability at public facilities.
