Housing

The housing market in Monument is very limited due to the small population and lack of new development. The housing stock consists almost entirely of single-family detached homes, many of which are older, historical structures on larger lots.

Home prices and property taxes are highly affordable compared to Oregon's metropolitan areas like Portland or Bend. However, inventory is exceptionally scarce; homes rarely go on the market, and rental properties are virtually non-existent. Most residents own their homes outright, and housing is deeply integrated with the surrounding agricultural land.
