While there is no city named "Libraries" to provide specific school district stats for, the State of Michigan relies heavily on its library infrastructure to boost educational outcomes.
* **State Literacy Rate:** Approximately 91.6% of Michigan adults are literate, a metric heavily supported by early literacy programs at public libraries. * **High School Graduation Rate:** Michigan's high school graduation rate averages around 81%. * **Educational Role:** Michigan public libraries partner with schools to provide tutoring, digital broadband access (crucial for students without home internet), and summer reading programs designed to prevent the "summer slide" in reading comprehension. * **Academic Libraries:** Michigan is home to globally ranked research institutions. The University of Michigan Library holds over 14 million volumes, ranking among the top university library systems in the world.
