The topography of Aetna Township is characterized by gently rolling hills and relatively flat plains, typical of central Michigan. Elevations in the township generally range from about 880 to 950 feet above sea level.
There are no major mountain ranges, deep canyons, or dramatic elevation shifts. Rather, the terrain features subtle undulations, small creek valleys, and fertile floodplains immediately adjacent to the Little Muskegon River.
