Scottdale's transportation network is highly auto-centric but benefits greatly from its proximity to regional transit hubs. The community is bisected by major local arteries like East Ponce de Leon Avenue and North Decatur Road, with easy access to Interstate 285 just a few miles away.
Public transit is provided by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). While there is no train station directly inside Scottdale, the community is serviced by several MARTA bus routes that connect riders quickly to the nearby Avondale and Kensington MARTA rail stations. For cyclists and pedestrians, the Stone Mountain Trail—a paved, multi-use PATH foundation trail—runs directly through the area, offering a safe, scenic, non-motorized route to downtown Atlanta to the west and Stone Mountain to the east. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are also ubiquitous.
