Agriculture

Historically, Moreno Valley was an agricultural center renowned for citrus groves, orchards, and extensive dryland farming (such as wheat and barley).

Today, large-scale commercial agriculture is virtually non-existent within city limits, having been completely displaced by suburban residential developments and industrial logistics parks. A few small remnants of its agricultural past can be seen in older residential lots that still maintain private fruit trees, and there are intermittent community garden initiatives. The surrounding unincorporated areas of Riverside County still support some agricultural operations, but within the city itself, the focus is entirely on urban and commercial land use.
