Transportation

The Museums precinct is highly accessible by various modes of urban transit. It is bordered by major arterial roads, notably Albert Crescent and Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha.

Public transit is widely available via the extensive Colombo city bus network, with several stops located within walking distance of the museum gates. Tuk-tuks (auto-rickshaws) and ride-hailing services like Uber and PickMe are the most common ways visitors navigate to the area. The precinct is pedestrian-friendly compared to much of Colombo, featuring paved sidewalks and walking paths that connect to the adjacent Viharamahadevi Park. The nearest major railway hubs are the Maradana Railway Station and Colombo Fort Station, both a short drive away.
