The Community of Madrid experiences a Mediterranean climate with strong continental influences due to its altitude and distance from the sea. Under the Köppen climate classification, the lower plains and the capital are predominantly Csa (hot-summer Mediterranean), while the mountainous regions transition to Csb (warm-summer Mediterranean) and Alpine climates at the highest peaks.

- **Temperatures:** Summers are notably hot and dry, with average high temperatures in July and August frequently exceeding 33°C (91°F) and occasionally reaching up to 40°C (104°F). Winters are cool to cold, with average highs around 10°C (50°F) and frequent nighttime frosts dropping below 0°C (32°F). - **Precipitation:** Rainfall is moderate, averaging around 400–500 mm annually in the capital, but significantly higher in the northern mountains. Most precipitation occurs in autumn and spring. - **Snowfall:** Snow is rare in the capital city (occurring a few days a year at most), but heavy and common in the Sierra de Guadarrama during winter months. - **Best Time to Visit:** Spring (April to June) and Autumn (September to November) offer the most comfortable temperatures for tourism and outdoor activities.
