Transportation

Mytishchi's transportation network is heavily oriented toward connecting residents with Moscow.

**Rail:** The Yaroslavsky suburban railway line is the city's main artery. The Mytishchi railway station is a major transit hub. Fast commuter trains (known as *Sputniks*) and standard *elektrichkas* shuttle tens of thousands of passengers daily to Moscow's Yaroslavsky Station in about 20 to 30 minutes. Other local stations include Tayninskaya and Perlovskaya.

**Roads:** The Yaroslavskoye Highway (M8) runs right through the city, providing direct access to the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road). Traffic congestion during rush hour is a well-known challenge.

**Local Transit:** The city is served by a dense network of municipal buses and private minibuses (*marshrutkas*), which provide intra-city transit and routes to the nearest Moscow Metro station (Medvedkovo).

**Airports:** Mytishchi does not have its own airport, but it is conveniently located relative to Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO), which is accessible via the MKAD.
