Given its highly urbanized nature and proximity to Moscow, traditional agriculture within Mytishchi city limits is virtually nonexistent.
However, in the broader Mytishchi Urban Okrug (which includes surrounding rural lands and villages), there are pockets of agricultural activity. This is primarily focused on greenhouse farming, horticulture, and poultry, designed to quickly supply fresh produce to the massive Moscow metropolitan consumer market. Local forestry management is also a critical component, particularly in maintaining the health of the adjacent Losiny Ostrov National Park.
