Transportation

Capital: Thiruvananthapuram

Kerala possesses a highly developed transportation network. The road network is extensive, with National Highway 66 running parallel to the coastline, connecting major cities from north to south. Public transit is heavily reliant on buses operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and private operators.

The state has 100% broad-gauge railway connectivity operated by the Southern Railway, linking all major towns. Kochi boasts the Kochi Metro, a modern rapid transit system. Kerala is the only Indian state with four international airports: Trivandrum (TRV), Cochin (COK - the world's first fully solar-powered airport), Calicut (CCJ), and Kannur (CNN). Additionally, the state has an extensive inland water transport system, including National Waterway 3, and a major seaport at Cochin.
