### Public Utilities
The infrastructure in Tehran Province is expansive, designed to serve a massive and dense urban population.
* **Electricity:** Power generation and distribution are managed by the Tehran Regional Electric Company under Tavanir (Iran Power Generation and Transmission Company). The grid is heavily strained during summer peak periods. * **Water:** The Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company (TPWW) handles water supply and sanitation. Water is primarily sourced from dams in the Alborz mountains (Karaj, Latyan, Lar, Taleqan, and Mamlu dams) and deep wells. * **Gas:** Piped natural gas is supplied by the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC). It is universally available in urban areas and used extensively for residential heating and cooking. * **Waste Management:** The Tehran Municipality Waste Management Organization oversees trash collection and recycling. The Aradkouh waste disposal complex processes a significant portion of the province's daily municipal waste.
