The topography of Kadanad is famously undulating. It features a series of steep hillocks (locally referred to as *kunnu*), deep valleys, and terraced slopes.
There are no soaring mountain peaks, but the changing elevations provide breathtaking vantage points of the surrounding central Kerala landscape. The lower valleys traditionally support paddy and tapioca cultivation, while the elevated, well-drained slopes are almost exclusively dedicated to vast tracts of rubber trees and mixed spice gardens.
