Geography

Kadanad is located in the Meenachil Taluk of Kottayam District, in the central part of Kerala. It sits within the "midlands" (Madanad) of the state—a geographical zone sandwiched between the coastal plains to the west and the towering Western Ghats to the east.

The soil here is predominantly laterite, which is highly fertile, porous, and well-suited for cash crop cultivation. The village landscape is characterized by a patchwork of densely forested residential plots, terraced farming, and small streams that eventually feed into the Meenachil River basin. The abundant greenery is sustained by the state's generous rainfall, making the region remarkably vibrant year-round.
