Summers (April to June) can be intensely hot, especially in the central plains, with daytime temperatures often exceeding 40°C (104°F). The southwest monsoon arrives in late June and lasts through September, delivering an average annual rainfall of about 1,292 mm (50 inches), which is crucial for the state's rice crops. Winters (November to March) are mild and highly pleasant, with average temperatures ranging between 10°C and 25°C (50°F - 77°F). The best time to visit the state is during the cooler, drier winter months.
