Kerala boasts a highly developed transportation network. It has one of the highest road densities in India, with National Highway 66 running the length of the state's coast. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates a comprehensive bus network connecting remote villages and major cities.
Rail transport is operated by the Southern Railway, with a dense network of lines heavily utilized for passenger transit. Kerala is uniquely serviced by four international airports: Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin (CIAL—the world's first fully solar-powered airport), Calicut, and Kannur. Urban transit has seen modern upgrades, notably the Kochi Metro and the Kochi Water Metro, an innovative integrated water transport system utilizing battery-operated ferries.
