Hong Kong features a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cwa). The year is divided into distinct seasons. Summers (June to August) are hot, humid, and rainy, with average highs frequently exceeding 31°C (88°F). This season also brings a significant risk of typhoons and heavy rainstorms, which can occasionally trigger landslides or flooding.
Winters (December to February) are generally mild, sunny, and dry, with temperatures hovering around 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), though occasional cold fronts can drop temperatures below 10°C (50°F). Spring is famously changeable and cloudy, while autumn (October to early December) is widely considered the best time to visit, characterized by comfortable temperatures, low humidity, and clear skies. Snowfall is practically unheard of, save for occasional frost on the highest mountain peaks.
