Weather & climate

The weather at the monument sites in and around Dhaka falls under the tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification: *Aw*), bordering on a tropical monsoon climate.

* **Temperatures:** Winter (December to February) is mild and pleasant, with average lows around 14°C (57°F) and highs around 26°C (79°F). Summer (March to May) is hot and highly humid, with temperatures regularly exceeding 35°C (95°F). * **Rainfall:** The region experiences intense rainfall during the monsoon season from June to October, accounting for the vast majority of its annual precipitation (approximately 2,000 mm). * **Best Time to Visit:** The ideal time to explore the outdoor monument grounds is during the cooler, drier winter months from November to February. * **Natural Hazards:** While the broader region is susceptible to seasonal river flooding, major memorial sites are generally built on slightly elevated, well-drained ground to ensure year-round public access.
