Agriculture in Arunapuram is dominated by cash crops, tailored to the region's laterite soil and heavy rainfall. The undisputed king of crops here is natural rubber (*Hevea brasiliensis*). Almost every landholding family maintains a rubber plantation, large or small.
In addition to rubber, local farmers cultivate coconuts, black pepper, nutmeg, cocoa, and tapioca. Homestead farming often includes plantains, jackfruit, mangoes, and various local vegetables. The transition toward organic farming is slowly gaining traction among smaller homesteads, though commercial rubber remains highly standardized.
